Web Site Changes

Occasionally you will find it necessary to request changes to your website. In order for me to efficiently action your changes and the time spent on them (and hence reduce the cost to you) please ensure that you use the following procedure.

1. Let me have a list of all the required website changes on a single email. This email is effectively a Work Request. You may require more than one thing to be changed so when the work you require is listed on a single email it is easier for me to track and I can ensure that I do exactly what you need.

2. Be very specific in telling me what you need to be done. I often get requests from people saying things like, "On my website change the text that says 'widgets for sale' to 'blue widgets for sale'. They don't tell me where this text appears on their site and while this may not sound like a big deal it means that I either have to spend time searching for the information or email them for more details with either option costing time and money. Tell me exactly what you want changed and where it appears on your site.

3. Name the website page where the change is required. You can see this in your browser's address bar (See below). For example this page is called website-changes.htm.

A typical text change request should be submitted in a format similar to the following.

Existing Text:
"Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium doloremque laudantium, totam rem aperiam, eaque ipsa quae ab illo inventore veritatis et quasi architecto beatae vitae dicta sunt explicabo. Nemo enim ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas sit aspernatur aut odit aut fugit, sed quia consequuntur magni dolores eos qui ratione voluptatem sequi nesciunt."

 

Required Text:
"Neque porro quisquam est, qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet, consectetur, adipisci velit, sed quia non numquam eius modi tempora incidunt ut labore et dolore magnam aliquam quaerat voluptatem. Ut enim ad minima veniam, quis nostrum exercitationem ullam corporis suscipit laboriosam, nisi ut aliquid ex ea commodi consequatur? Quis autem vel eum iure reprehenderit qui in ea voluptate velit esse quam nihil molestiae consequatur, vel illum qui dolorem eum fugiat quo voluptas nulla pariatur".
