Flash Websites and Animation

Flash websites and Flash animation is seldom appropriate on business websites where substance is more important than style. There may be occasions where an attractive, animated graphic can sometimes work well on your introductory page but bear in mind that with business web sites you should not distract your site's visitors from the content.

Flash introductions are generally used to introduce your site and clicking on them takes your visitors into your internal pages. They can also convey a clean, professional image. We can produce graphics similar to the above with your company logo and name if you need them but we do not advise our clients to use them. Flash content cannot be indexed (read) by the search engines so it does not add any value to your site. Content is King in this respect and content should be text based. If you require to be found on the search engines put words on your site. Words are what people search for.

When it comes to promoting your site on the Search engines and if the purpose of your site is to generate business then you would probably be best not to include Flash. If you think you do need a Flash website ask for our advice first.
